It’s like a skating party in your bathroom, and all your Sanrio friends are invited.
Part of the secret to the enduring popularity of Hello Kitty and her Sanrio pals is what loyal friends they are. Sure, you could take the cynical interpretation that their incredibly wide variety of character merch is simply a way to multiply revenue streams, but there’s no denying that it also means that almost no matter what you’re doing in life, there’s a way for you to do it with your favorite Sanrio characters keeping you company…even in the bathroom.

This week, Fukuoka-based paper products company Marutomi Seishi began selling its newest collaboration with Sanrio, the “Sanrio Winter 12-Roll Double.” And yes, that’s “double” as in “double-ply toilet paper.” This isn’t just a case of playful packaging, either, the paper itself is covered in illustrations.
▼ It’s only fitting that Sanrio toilet paper be as kind and gentle as the characters that appear on it.

Over a dozen Sanrio characters are featured, including Helloy Kitty, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, Kuromi, Pochacco, and Hangyodon, on two patterns.

The new paper has a wintery motif, depicting the Sanrio friends bundled up for an ice skating outing rendered in a cool snowy color scheme.

Marutomi Seishi also promises that the Sanrio toiler paper has a “sweets fragrance.” That’s not to be confused with a generic “sweet” smell, but instead appears to indicate that this toilet paper has the aroma of some sort of dessert.

The goal, Marutomi Seishi says, is for the Sanrio toilet paper to “create a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere in your bathroom,” and the 12-roll pack should be showing up now in Japanese drugstores and other housewares retailers.
