Now you can make a fashion statement with these striking Pikachu and Jigglypuff boots … for a price.
We’ve certainly seen some interesting collaborations in the past between high-end fashion houses and Japanese anime/comic/game franchises, including Bulgari and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Moschino and Super Mario Brothers.
Another such crossover that we’ve recently been impressed with is the line of Pokémon items that Italian fashion brand GCDS released last September as part of their 2019 Spring Collection.
Yup, we couldn’t help but be fascinated with the edgy knee-high boots and bags prominently featuring the faces of Pikachu and Jigglypuff. And as some items from the collection are now apparently available within Japan through fashion select shop GR8, we decided we had to take a closer look at the Pokémon products.
▼ Take a look at the Pikachu boots that are sure to catch everyone’s eyes anytime, anywhere.
▼ And here are the Jigglypuff boots. Jigglypuff’s pink coloring makes the boots a gentle, attractive color, and we might even say “easy to coordinate” — to a certain extent.
The price of the boots, however, is not so “cute”, as the boots cost 56,000yen (US$515) a pair on the GR8 online shop.
▼ We even found Queer Eye‘s Tan France sporting a pair of the Pikachu boots on his Instagram account!
And for those of you outside of Japan, you can order the boots and bags from the GCDS online shop, where the boots are priced at €378 (US$425) a pair and the bags at €405 each. And yes, they do ship internationally.
▼ Here are the Pikachu and Jigglypuff bags, which we found simply adorable.
▼ There are a few other Pokémon items available on the
GCDS online shop, including this Pikachu sweater (€370):
Yes, the prices aren’t exactly friendly to your wallet, but again that’s really not surprising when it comes to collaborations with fashion brands, as we’ve already seen with another Pokémon clothing line in the past.
Although if you can spare the expense, these items might be the perfect way to make a fashion statement and show your love of Pokémon at the same time!
