Totoro ditches his beloved acorn for a popular Japanese citrus this summer.
Studio Ghibli is heating things up this summer, with new merchandise covering cartoon glassware, folding fans, and Japanese wind bells adorned with some of our favourite characters from their anime films.
Now they’re adding a new range of summertime goods to their collection, with Totoro from My Neighbour Totoro as the star, alongside some zesty natsumikan, or summer mandarin.
The range includes a cute array of towels in different sizes, perfect for dabbing off pesky beads of sweat from your skin, or drying your face and hands after a cool wash.
▼The Mini Towel and Wash Towel retail for 600 yen (US$5.54)…
▼ While the Face Towel retails for 1,200 yen.
And when it comes to serving up summertime meals, Totoro is here to brighten the day with a gorgeous range of glassware.
▼ The Glass Tumbler retails for 1,100 yen…

▼ The Glass Mug and the 18-centimetre (7-inch) wide Glass Plate retail for 2,000 yen…
▼ While the slightly smaller 15-centimetre wide Glass Plate retails for 1,500 yen.
And if you want some some accessories to match your towels and tableware, you can tie your hair back with a cute Totoro Natsumikan embroidered hair elastic for 900 yen.
▼ The Totoro Keyholder retails for 1,000 yen.
And because Totoro with a natsumikan on his head is a cute new look for the famous character, there’s even a figurine on sale for 1,800 yen.
Japan’s Donguri Kyowakoku (“Acorn Republic”) retail chain, which sells official merchandise from Studio Ghibli, will be stocking the new Totoro x Natsumikan collection in stores and online from mid-June.
And if you’re looking for something to fill those cute Totoro glasses with, Donguri Kyowakoku has you covered with Totoro and Jiji tea blends for a very Ghibli iced tea!
