You’ll be blown away by the beautiful nighttime cityscape of Tokyo.
Japan is an absolutely fantastic place to visit; the staggering variety of ramen alone is enough to entice tourists from all over the world. But we at SoraNews24 recognize that Japan can be difficult to get to if you don’t already live in Asia. Flights to Tokyo from Europe and the Americas are expensive and long, and when you’re traveling so far and paying so much, you’ll want to make it count and spend at least a week or two here. For some people that’s simply not possible.
That’s why when we found this awesome 8K aerial video of the Tokyo metropolitan area at night, we just had to share it with you, so that you can see exactly what Tokyo looks like, without ever having set foot here!
▼ Make sure you watch in full screen mode; you’ll want to see every detail!
The video is by Aramadas, a video production company based out of Japan that also brought us a beautiful video about festivals, and contains just over four and a half minutes of stunning night shots of Tokyo and Yokohama. According to the video description, the scenes were taken from an airplane using an 8K camera, which is why every single detail is absolutely crystal clear. There are gorgeous shots of Tokyo Tower, Yokohama’s Minato Mirai area, Tokyo Sky Tree, Odaiba, Shinjuku Station area, and more. The views are absolutely amazing, and as one YouTube user put it, “More realistic than real life!”
▼ Especially cool are the aerial views of major stations, like this one of Tokyo Station, with the Imperial Palace behind it. The luminous lines of the many platforms are mesmerizing!

We can’t help but be in awe. Even if you’ve seen Tokyo and Yokohama from the streets, an aerial view is totally different; there’s nothing like seeing the city laid out before you in neat rows, with its yellow lights sparkling in geometric patterns across the landscape. Even if you do get to visit Tokyo, by watching this video, you can get an even better city view than if you were to climb Tokyo Tower or Sky Tree, and save a few thousand yen at the same time!

So don’t feel bad if you can’t make it to Japan just yet. There are lots of ways to enjoy what Japan has to offer remotely! For example, Armadas has many more high-definition videos of Japan and its culture, and we’ve featured another video that will show you a street level view of Tokyo’s different faces. There’s also an 8K video just showcasing what one area of Hokkaido, in northern Japan, has to offer, or if photography is more your thing, check out these collections of urban buildings, castles, and mountainside farms.
