When a church is just not romantic enough, have your wedding in the world of Hello Kitty!
We love all of the awesome geeky wedding options that are available in Japan these days. Not only can you propose to you partner using beautiful, classy, and also anime-inspired engagement rings from U-Treasure, but you can also take advantage of the surprisingly elegant Pokémon and Final Fantasy wedding plans available in the country!
Speaking of wedding plans, all you Hello Kitty fans, did you know that Sanrio Puroland offers weddings as well? For as little as 280,000 yen (about US$2,500), you can have the wedding of your dreams in the whimsical world of Hello Kitty and friends!
The weddings at Sanrio Puroland take place in the Fairy Land Theater, where ordinarily the Sanrio characters appear in live performances. According to the theme park’s website, however, “On your special day, only the two of you will take the leading roles.” Hello Kitty and her friend Daniel will be on stage with you, though, as witnesses to your matrimony!
In the 280,000 yen plan (plus an extra 21,600 yen for a weekend wedding), you’ll also get an M.C., music and lights, rental of the dress, tuxedo, and accessories, an assistant to help with the bride’s hair and makeup, and a marriage certificate. Plus, everything is already decorated for you, so you don’t have to worry about that, either!

That’s a heck of a deal, considering most of that would be extra at many other wedding venues. Some additional fees will have to be paid, such as park entry tickets for each guest (3,000 yen each), as well as photography, and styling for the groom, if desired. You will also have to find another venue if you choose to hold a dinner party following the wedding. For just the ceremony, however, this would be the perfect place to hold an adorable Hello Kitty wedding!
The weddings are produced in partnership with Petit Weddings, a company that helps put together small celebrations at chapels all across the country. They’ll plan everything for you, starting on the day you first meet with them, so everything will be taken care of. If you’re interested, check out the Puroland Wedding homepage andcontact Petit Weddings using the info at the bottom of the page.
