Here there be dragons and bargains.
Generally, people don’t go to malls to buy daily necessities like paper towels or detergent. Mall shopping is primarily for fun or special-occasion purposes, and to make the atmosphere even more fun and special, sometimes outlet malls in Japan have collaborations with popular video game franchises. Maybe they put up a Final Fantasy Christmas tree for the holiday season, or set out some Super Mario cardboard character standees.
And then there’s what Mitsui Outlet Park Fukuoka Marinoa is planning to do for its team-up with the Monster Hunter franchise.

Two different giant beasts from developer Capcom’s hit series are scheduled to becoming residents of the mall, and we do mean giant beasts, as these statues will be “life-size” versions of Fire Wyvern Rathalos, known as the King of the Skies, and Leviathan Lagiacrus, King of the Seas.
Because Monster Hunter’s gameplay system allows for variances in individual specimen sizes, we can’t say for sur how large the statues of Rathalos and Lagiacrus will be, but the preview images promise that they’ll be of sufficient stature that low-level adventurers would be ill-advised to attempt to solo them.

Since the Monster Hunter: World installment in the series, particularly bold monsters have been able to engage in turf wars with one another should they both covet the same section of the environment, and it looks like Mitsui Outlet Park Fukuoka Marinoa’s Rathalos and Lagiacrus might not be the best of friends, as effects such as dramatic sound, lighting, and mist will be used to simulate battles between the two.

The outlet mall, located near Meinohama Station in Fukuoka City, is slated to open this coming April, so you’ve got a few months to sort out your travel plans/put together a Monster Hunter team before the creatures appear.
